MUSIC & WELLNESS WITH MELISSA SOMMERS, MM, BC-MT

TUESDAYS at 12PM CDT VIA ZOOM! 

This is a very overwhelming and scary time for all of us and the way this is impacting us is unpredicted. Many people are looking for ways to relax and decompress during this unprecedented time. Through a secure HIPAA platform, the entire team of board-certified music therapists at Meli Music have moved to telehealth to continue supporting our communities. Sessions can focus on a range of needs, whether it be through music listening, creative writing, guided imagery, meditation, etc. Meli Music wants to support you by providing a space for you and your loved ones to develop coping skills and techniques through music. Additionally, they have moved their music lessons online as well. Learning a new skill or hobby is a great way to add a little structure in your day to day. 

 

Melissa Sommers became a board-certified music therapist in 2006. She received her bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and her master's degree in Music, with a focus in Neurologic Music Therapy, from Colorado State University. Melissa is the CEO and owner of Meli Music, a music therapy company that provides music services to all ages and abilities. Sadhana is a Heartfulness Meditation Trainer for over 15 yrs and has been practicing meditation for over 25 years. She has found that meditation brings peace, balance, and harmony to our lives and wants to share that experience with others in order to embrace humanity and make the world a better place.  She conducts weekly meditation sessions at Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC)/Blue Cross Blue Shield and meditation workshops in communities, mentoring people in their daily meditation practice. She enjoys gardening, yoga, cooking, and helping others to live a fulfilled life.

Heartfulness offers you a simple set of relaxation and meditation practices - dynamic and effective tools for personal growth and ‘mind management’ for today's world. Learn to brush aside the complexity of thoughts and enjoy deep states of consciousness and stillness that will refresh your mind and body.
