Volunteer

We are looking for volunteers to perform the following duties:

1)   Data Entry - Someone is needed to help compile a computer database of resources for our members and friends. Must be detail oriented, able to research information, and update current listings that may have changed or become obsolete. Strong internet skills preferred.

2)   Grant Writer - We anticipate the volunteer will:

- Research grant-making organizations and analyze them to identify the possibility of funding for our programs.

- Compile, write, and edit all grant applications with strong writing skills and a very good grammar & spelling.

- Follow each grant-making organization's preferences and their guidelines to develop individual grant proposals.

- Stay in contact with organizations during their review of a submitted grant application in order to be able to supply additional supportive material.

- Manage the progress reports and distribute them to the staff or grant-making organization representative as needed.

- Collect data and financial information from the appropriate person to include in grant proposals and supplemental attachments.

3)   Chicago Marathon - We need two assistants per location for the weekly CARA marathon training sessions prior to the race in October. The duties at the weekly CARA trainings would be to help recruit runners for our Stomp Out Stigma - Run for Mental Health team. Exact addresses will be provided and the schedule is as follows:

Every Saturday from June 12th to October 16th (19 weeks - 3-hour shifts)  ~

In addition, numerous helpers are needed on event day - Sunday, October 10th. (The total number has not been determined). These volunteers will answer questions at our booth, pass out literature, give runners water and energy bars, etc. (10-hour commitment).
